Endermologie Frequently Asked Questions

Is it approved by the FDA?

Yes! In fact it is the ONLY cellulite treatment that is approved by the FDA. In the past 12 years, thousands of case studies from around the world have continued to demonstrate the FDA-approved manufacturer's statement that Endermologie causes temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite.

How many treatments will I need?

On average, a series of 12-20 sessions is needed to achieve the most desirable results. Because each body is different, it is impossible to determine the number of treatments for each person.

How many treatments can I have per week?

The average number of treatments is two per week with at least one day in between treatments. If you are simultaneously in the process of losing a significant amount of weight or if you have a long-term problematic cellulite condition, one treatment per week is recommended. More than two sessions per week will not bring faster results.

How many treatments before I see results and how long are the treatments?

Some people begin seeing results within the first few treatments and others notice changes after the 5-8th treatment. It is not uncommon for it to take longer to see results. Results depend on your body and how it responds to the treatment. Sessions last an average of 35 minutes. The endermologist will focus on your problem areas, but time is given to other areas to stimulate general circulation and elimination of toxins. Once you have reached your goal, monthly maintenance sessions are suggested.

Does everyone receive the same treatments?

You will receive treatments based on your specific body type, with a concentration on problem areas. It is imperative to have an overall body treatment in each session for the benefit of stimulated circulation and the most effective results.

Does Endermologie help me lose weight?

No, the Endermologie machine has not been proven to help with weight loss. The FDA allows the following claims: to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite, to reduce circumferential body measure in cellulite-treated areas, to improve blood circulation, and to relieve muscle aches, pains, soreness and spasm. It is not a weight-loss device. In fact, the results of Endermologie will likely be enhanced if you are at your ideal body weight.

 Does this replace exercise?

No. In fact, it is highly recommended that you add diet and exercise to your health regimen while undergoing Endermologie treatments. In most cases, this improves results.

Does this treatment work on men also?

Definitely. Our clinical experience has shown excellent results for problem areas such as “love handles” and loose pectoral tissue.

 Does Endermologie tone the skin?

Patients have been thrilled with the results, and have themselves also claimed an improvement in skin tone and appearance of stretch marks. Such claims, not evaluated by the FDA, nonetheless demonstrate the extent of patient satisfaction.

Why is a bodysuit worn when receiving treatments?

The bodysuit allows the Endermologie treatment head to glide more easily over the body and insures optimal hygiene.

What is the difference between Endermologie and liposuction? Can it be used instead of liposuction?

Endermologie, unlike liposuction, does not involve breaking through the skin in any way. Some people try Endermologie first and then choose to wait to receive liposuction. Some choose to receive both as part of a duel treatment to their problem. Endermologie is being used and studied by some of the most well known practitioners of liposuction in the world.

Can I have Endermologie treatments if I'm planning to have liposuction?

Yes! Endermologie is recommended by many plastic surgeons before and after liposuction (especially after). Endermologie counteracts the rippling and hard fat deposits that occur with liposuction.

Why are photos taken before and after treatment?

Photos are taken to provide an accurate record of improvements and to help the Endermologie practitioner provide better treatments through comparative analysis.

I don't want anyone to see my picture. Do you protect my privacy?

Only your therapist and attendant staff will see your photos. If you wish, and you sign a release to that effect, your photos may be used for educational and promotional purposes. Your face is never seen in the photos. The pictures will focus just on the areas of your body that have cellulite.

What sensations will I experience during the treatment? Does it hurt?

The treatment should not feel uncomfortable. Most clients find it quite pleasant. The strength of the treatment can be individually adjusted to your comfort level. Working at a stronger level of suction will not necessarily assure better results.

 What will I feel afterward?

Most clients report a feeling of relaxation and an increase in energy. Since the lymph system is stimulated, it is important for the success of your treatment that you drink at least two liters of water every day during the duration of your treatment in order to aid in the elimination of toxins.

 Are there any side effects?

Minor, temporary bruising may occur.

Can I receive treatments if I am pregnant?

No correlation has been found between Endermologie and complications in pregnancy. However, it is recommended that during pregnancy you do NOT receive treatments, due to the substantial release of toxins and wastes that occur during treatment.
